UB Libraries, together with the Center for Educational Innovation, present “Research at Risk: Can Libraries Save Scholarship?”  Join us for a public talk by Jeffrey Spies, co-founder of the Center for Open Science (COS). Spies will discuss how the library could become a campus hub for innovation, large-scale interdisciplinary collaboration, and research workflow support… or whether it’s already too late.

Jeffrey Spies, Ph.D., is the founder of 221B LLC, a strategic consulting firm combining expertise in research technology, methodology, and workflow to accelerate projects across higher education.  He maintains a leadership role in the community project, SHARE, and is a co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer of the Center for Open Science (COS), a non-profit technology company missioned to increase openness, integrity, and reproducibility of scholarly research.
