Edward P. Furlani
Edward P. Furlani was born on September 19, 1952 in Buffalo, NY. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, a master's degree in physics, and a Ph.D. in theoretical physics, all from the University at Buffalo. Furlani began working in a research lab at Eastman Kodak Co. in 1982, where he would become a principal scientist and active inventor. He won the Prolific Inventor Award from the Society of Imaging Science and Technology in 2008. Furlani joined UB's faculty as a professor of chemical and biological engineering and electrical engineering in 2011. He died on July 3, 2018 at the age of 65.
