Letitia Thomas-Rogers

Currently the Director of UB's Cora P. Maloney College (CPMC), Letitia L. Thomas-Rogers began her service to UB in 1993 as the Coordinator of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program. She has also worked as an Interviewer for the Center for Research on Urban Social Work Practice and as Coordinator of the Minority Academic Achievement Program, both at UB. In 2000, she became the Director of CPMC, which offers programming in academic enrichment, cultural awareness, and other forms of student support. Thomas-Rogers also lectures in the Sociology Department and Cora P. Maloney College.

A Buffalo native, Thomas-Rogers graduated from City Honors High School before obtaining her B.S. in Biological Sciences from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York.

Thomas-Rogers then earned master's degrees in Sociology and Education Administration, both from UB. Rogers is also completing a doctorate in Sociology at UB. Her professional affiliations include the American Sociological Association and the American Educational Research Association.

For her leadership and dedication at UB, Thomas-Rogers won the Educator of the Year award from INROADS Upstate New York, Inc. twice, in 1995 and 2002. She has also been honored by the Uncrowned Queens, a project to document and promote the individual histories of African American community builders in Western New York.

Letitia Thomas-Rogers has also been recognized as an Uncrowned Queen.
