Michael W. Kibby

Michael W. Kibby joined the faculty of the University at Buffalo's Graduate School of Education in 1971.  He earned a BA in psychology from Wayne State University (1965), and both an MA in reading (1968) and a Ph.D. in language and reading instruction (1975) from the University of Chicago.  Kibby was the director of the Reading Clinic for his entire 38 year tenure at UB.  He also served as the chair of the Department of Learning and Instruction from 1988-2000 and associate dean of technology for the Graduate School of Education from 1999-2000.  In 1994, Kibby received the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.
