An excellent teacher, Horne has also lectured, hosted conferences, and acted throughout the world.

In 1994, Horne founded and directed the Center for the Arts' International Artistic and Cultural Exchange Program, a program that brings unusually gifted theatre and dance artists to UB from around the world and supports the performance of UB students at a variety of international theatre festivals.
