Robert E. BaierBorn: 1939
Robert E. Baier was born in Buffalo in 1939. He attended Hutch Tech High School (1956), earned a bachelor's in physics from Cleveland State University (1962) and a doctorate in biophysics at the University at Buffalo (1966).
Dr. Baier held several posts throughout his career. He spent almost two decades at Calspan Advanced Technology Center, working on chemical and biological defense projects for the military. He also served as a professor of biomaterials in the UB Dental School, was executive director of the New York State Center for Advanced Technology in Healthcare Instruments and Devices, and held several adjunct/associate/consultant posts at Empire State College, Columbia University, Cornell, and Clemson. His research focused on surfaces interaction and its applicable technology.
Dr. Robert E. Baier died March 2, 2019 in Amherst, New York.
