Owen B. Augspurger

Owen B. Augspurger graduated from the UB Law School in 1937. He passed the bar exam in the same year and would later become a partner in the law firm Jaekle, Fleischmann, Kelly, Swart and Augspurger. He served in the Pacific Theatre during World War II and was discharged a Lieutenant Colonel. Augspurger was devoted to the City of Buffalo and was twice honored by the Buffalo News as an outstanding citizen. Among his many civic positions are president of the Buffalo Junior Chamber of Commerce, chair of the Buffalo Chapter of the American Red Cross, president of the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society and Buffalo City Councilman for the Delaware District.
Augspurger served the University at Buffalo in a number of positions. He was the general chairman of the 1952 Greater University of Buffalo Development campaign, a member of the UB Council from 1954-1965, and a member of the General Alumni Board's Executive Committee. In 1960 received the Samuel P. Capen Alumni Award from UB, an award which is presented to an alumnus who has notably contributed to the growth of the university and its alumni family.
