33/1/217 Abstract:WBFO-FM 88.7, UB’s National Public Radio affiliate, first broadcast on Jan. 6, 1959, staffed by student volunteers. Later, another group of students established an FM radio station, with an FM license for broadcasting at 80.7 megacycles and continued as a student run activity with a student Program Manager until 2011, when UB sold WBFO to Western New York Public Broadcasting Association. The collection contains production and administrative files related to the operation of WBFO.
