9/9/00-2 Abstract:The Bee (1921-1950) focused almost entirely on student activities, often with humor. There was almost no coverage of events beyond the UB campus or on how those events impacted the lives of UB students. With veterans attending the university after the end of World War II enrolled an older and more diverse student body. It was then that the Bee’s sometimes frivolous style came under attack.
