Iggers (Georg G.) Papers

The collection contains correspondence, course files, and class registers of Dr. Georg G. Iggers. The bulk of the material dates from his time at the University at Buffalo. Series I contains correspondence from the years 1955-1984 (bulk 1967-1984). Series II consists of correspondence between the years 1985-2007 (bulk 1985-1999). The correspondence includes letters from graduate students, professional colleagues, publishers, and organizations, filed alphabetically by name of correspondent or subject (e.g. Philander Smith College or Grants). It also includes both incoming letters and carbon copies or handwritten drafts of letters by Iggers. Folders labeled “Annual Report (family)” contain Iggers family newsletters. Series III consists of course files and class registers from the years 1959-1998

Contains analog and digital records of the Institute for Research and Education on Women and Gender records, including: planning and promotional materials for workshops, lectures, conferences, celebrations, and other events; annual reports and drafts; information on IREWG grants, scholarships, and other awards; lists and descriptions of courses and curricula related to women and gender, including the Women's Studies program; documents related to Institutepromotion and outreach, including scholar interviews and the "Gender Matters' podcast; records from program collaborations and co-sponsorships; text drafts and final copies of newsletters, Listserv postings, brochures, and other publications; agendas, meeting minutes, and directories for IREWG committees, subcommittees, and focus groups; and records related to the administrative operations of the institute.

Also contains audiovisual material including VHS copies of films and IREWG events as well as streaming video of the 2005 Conference on Military Culture and Gender.

Iris Student Art, 1920-1921

Five original sketches by J. B. Toomey for the 1920 and 1921 University of Buffalo student yearbook, the Iris, plus the printed versions of four of the sketches. Some sketches dated 1919.
